I de-assisted my barrage awhile back and have now seemed to miss placed the spring. Does any one know where you can get a spring? The biggest reason I wanted to keep the spring is so that i can put the knife back to assisted if I ever need warranty work done on it. I love it de assisted but I need to find or purchase a spring.

Normally Benchmade won't send out a replacement coil spring. I think that's what you're asking for. As you're saying the knife was taken apart/de-assisted to remove the thing, it voids the warranty. What I would recommend is calling them at 800-800-7427 and ask for Customer Service. See what they have to offer.

G'luck and let us know how it goes.

After many decades of experience ;) my approach when I do things like this is to put the part(s) in the knife's box. That has reduced the number of misplaced clips, screws, springs, etc. a great deal.

I now have a waterproof box that I store my main three carry knives in and there parts.

As long as his disassembly did not break anything in the knife, I can't see why they would 'void' his warrantee. This gets talked about way more than it actually happens. No customer service department, staffed by decent people possessing the most basic common sense, would deny a repair to a knife just because it was disassembled, so long as the disassembly did not directly or indirectly lead to the problem.

Just because something is written down does not make it so.

the problems not that i disassembled the knife its that i lost the coil spring for the knife.

Well the only place to get the spring would be from Benchmade. I doubt they will send one out but doesn't hurt to ask. I'm sure they'll still do warranty work with the spring missing. I doubt you would be the first to send in a knife that has been de-assisted.
