Can a barrel nut knife be disassembled without destroying the knife.
Is what is seen on the pommel a plug over a nut or an actual threaded insert that has been trimmed flush.
If the entire pommel was rotated would it bring the nut with it?
I know I've seen a picture of a disassembled one somewhere.
Best answer would probably come from Houser but he retired, anyone else know or ever do it?

addendum... I found the picture on page 12 of Odens book.

May 2001 BCCI newsletter has an illustration of BN construction if that helps any. Also, when the switch was made from BN to pinned, Buck had pommels on hand that already had the hole drilled for the BN. They didn’t want to waste them so they used them pinned and placed a plug in the hole where the BN would go.

Edited to correct my bad memory
