I posted this in the Bernard Levine forum but I thought I would post here too since I know there are some collectors of these knives here on the forums. I recently purchased this piece. I don't know anything about Barry Wood knives and any information would be helpful. Thank you.

No markings on the blade. Inside, a script bw inside a triangle. It also says US PAT 3702501 and on the other inside of the handle it says AGR 30.

I don't really know anything about these knives myself.
But just a guess on the AGR30. This model may have been made to be sold by A.G.Russell

T. Erdelyi, Does yours have the same markings as this one? A picture of the PCC version that I found had PCC in fairly large letters on the inside.

Yes it does I've been trying to post a pic but my photo mngr. seems to be having problems, it looks exactly like yours.

I'm not convinced this is the PCC model although it may well be and they of course look the same. I hope someone out there can confirm this. I have trouble believing that PCC would not have marked this knife accordingly. I'm just holding out hope that this is slightly more exotic then a PCC production knife. Thanks for your responses.:)

The picture loaded check the inside handle it's the opposite side viewed in your pic, the marks are the same as you describe, tommorow I'll try to post a better pic.

For anybody who is interested this is what I learned from a collector who was kind enough to provide me with some information on this model.

"It's a Mk10, which is also called a Model A. The triangle logo with the "bw" inside was Barry's last mark, before he partnered with Michael Irie. It would put it in the 80s and, I believe, it was made in Venice. Barry had some of these produced by PCC (Pacific Cutlery Corp.) but they didn't cost as much as the Woods marked with the triangle. I don't know what the "AGR 30" means... I don't recall seing that marking."

Thank you John.;)

In 1987, Pacific Cutlery came out with their factory made version of the Mk.10. A.G.Russell was one of the first to have them available and sold them for $45. Retail was $60. About 1200-1400 of them were made and they had a pretty rough grind on the blade (ground on Nicholas grinders). Then PCC changed grinding machines (to Berger grinders) and produced another 2400 or so with much nicer grinds and finishes on the blades. "T. Erdelyi", this is the model you have and is different from the one owned by "averageguy". Russell had 1400 to sell for $37 each. 50 more pieces were handmade by Barry Wood with his own handmade blades and they were marked "AGR 1" through "AGR 50" and sold by A.G.Russell. #1-#10 sold for $200, #11-#50 sold for $150. This is the one that "averageguy" has, "AGR 30". The Mk.10 is slightly different from the Model "A" as the Model "A" doesn't have the "half holes" in the frame, only the Mk.10 does. By the way "averageguy", you out-bid me on that auction...you snake!!!!
