I picked up an interesting looking paring knife the other day. It's a cast aluminum handle parer marked BARTEAUX U.S.A. The words look like they were stamped and located on the bottom back end of the handle. The stamp is slightly crooked going diagonally across the handle.

I've done a little googling trying to find anything I can about this knife but the only thing I've found was a little orange handled version on ebay. Other than the orange it's a perfect match.

I have only the knife, no other box or paperwork.

Does anybody have any information they could share with me regarding this knife?

Thanx
Tonie

Barteaux was originally a company connected to Dave Murphy and the early Gerber knives. I've never seen this particular kitchen before but at one time they did make a variety of hunting and combat knives they sold around the Northwest. They were still in the stores during the early 70's. Later the company switched to mostly machetes.
