Hi guys, I failed at finding more information on Bashpatis. I wasn't even able to find it on HIs website.
Who can help?
Where did it get the name from? What is it used for? Any reason for it having bone handles (I like them)?
Thank you!
:)

Bash=bamboo and pati =leaf. Shaped like bamboo leaf. Like sirupati is to grass leaf.. thats all I know and hope thats right! Im wondering myself how it differs from siru and kobra .

I remember when I got my bashpati(Which I love!) I did some similar research but to no avail.
I recall reading on an article that it was Just too wide of a blade to be considered a siru. Mine had a beautiful single filler that runs the length of the blade, making a nice hollow to it. And the swell before the convex grind slopes down to the edge reminds me somewhat of an Ang khola.

Really interested in hearing more about them.

The bashpati may be my favorite new HI product released in the last 4 or 5 years, just a really neat design. I can't wait to get mine out of storage:)

Can anyone post a spine shot of one next to another of equal length for comparrison? Sounds like it is more similar to Chitlangi or Gelbu Spec. but narrower like Siru?

Thanks everybody.
My Bashpati's spine is 3/5 of the thickness of my British army service Kukri (same length).
