I tried to strip the coat off a basic 5 I have, I soaked it for 30 minutes in industrial paint thinner and less then nothing happened , what are you guys and gals using to strip coatings off?

Gel Stripper.
Thinner will not do anything.

Most auto parts stores, and any hardware or big box store like walmart carries and sells paint stripper. You should be able to pick up some locally. Search the forum for paint stripper, there are a lot of threads on it.

I stripped an ASH-1 once, and just ran to the chain store down the street and bought a spray can of generic paint stripper that worked great. It doesn't have to be a specific brand, although some will work better or faster than others. They typically work better when it's warmer, so doing it outside at 40 degrees might take longer. Use gloves and if working indoors a respirator might be recommended.

If you have to order it online, here is the type you want.

Grab a spray can of Klean Strip from one of the home improvement stores.
It works in 15 minutes.

Make sure you also buy some thick chemical grade gloves, the stuff burns bad. Outdoors would also be recommended.

Or you could just drink more and then urinate on it!

Works for me:thumbup:

Its hard on canvas though, but g10 is totally fine:D
