Basic 6 LE. Little Bump in the Res-C Handle Normal?

Just got my Basic 6 LE. I noticed that where the spine meets the handle, the Res-C looks almost like it's peeling up, and there's a pronouced little bump. Is this bump normal? Looks like it's bulging out because the Basic 6 blade height is too long for the handle. Seems like a nice weak spot for the Res-C to get cracked/split from a wayward baton strike. I know it'll be covered by the Legendary Unconditional Busse Lifetime Warranty. Just wanted to make sure that's just how it is, and mine's not an oddity.

Hey bud, I got a cpl. I cant say for sure without seeing pics of yours but if I imagined right, Id say it is absolutely normal. Im no expert but Id worry not about it affecting performance/abuse

Yeah, Res-C is some tough stuff. My Dog Father is a bit like what you describe. I wouldn't worry about it. Post a picture, and we can let you know if it's something that needs to be swapped.

The fit and finish of Res-C handled blades isn't always perfect, but it gets the job done, and that's what counts

I have two and from what you describe they have the same thing - I wouldn't worry about it.

That handle area on future Basic's could be stronger by changing the blade shape slightly like this image mockup.

Basically it would be like the little thumb ramp curve like the FSH shown above.

While it would make the Res-C more durable in that particularly vulnerable area (Wayward Baton strikes come to mind), it does kind of ruin the minimalist clean outline of the overall shape.

I have a few like that, basic 11, DFLE, basic 9 & other's so I wouldn't worry about it! I beat the hell out of my busse's and I have not. Had a issue with the res-c handle yet. You could always send it back if you have a problem with it as they have a awesome warranty behind their blades.

Agreed, I just dont think smackin it into a log for a pic constitutes as actual use. It will see actual use soon enough though, I love that knife.
