Can anyone share their experience with how well the Basic LE and/or CG performs for chopping and batoning? I just got my B8 CG today and am really impressed with the lighter weight but wondering how it will perform as a chopper and camp knife. Anyone? Thanks

I agree with Legaleagle that it outperforms for it's size. In my experience it can really cream stuff wrist sized and smaller, but anything bigger and I'm more likely to grab a larger blade.

It's a champ for batoning. I get free scrap from a buddy who manages a pallet yard. 4x4 and larger blocks that are typically very hard, twisted grain, full of knots, etc... I have beat on my LE pretty hard and never had any concerns. On the staighter grained blocks I can often split them with one solid hit which is a lot of fun.

I'll take it.....for a week....use it...and send it back with a report?.....Seriously though. ..grEight score!
