Hi folks,
Wondering what an unused Basic 8LE Satin with Black handle (#116) may be going for these days ?
I've tried searching but when one sells everybody seemed to put SPF or Sold over the price.
Any input is much appreciated.
Cheers,
Mike

They've pretty much held their value since their release on the ones I've seen liquidated...

between 3 & 4 bills give or take depending on condition. The # adds nothing to the value, btw.

The real value in this model is in the using...one of the best blades from Busse ever-- and that's saying A LOT!

Thanks guys !
That's a very nice example there, Has it been customized ? The indented thumb ramp looks great and the spine looks " Meltdowned?"
I agree, one of the best ones ever, I'll always keep one or two.

Thanks David, I never even thought of searching for the original thread, I just searched the exchange.
Cheers,
Mike

Not always true, but I would agree generally it's true. The number on my B8 LE helped me make the decision to buy it; the # is 357 – one of my favorite calibers! A couple of my other Busses have the last 2 digits of my birth year.

Ok, that is badass. I may have to steal this idea if you don't mind, and have Josh work one up for me.
On the other hand... hmmm... clip point?

Yup, my Basic 8 is <yet another > one that I'll never part with short of bankruptcy or other emergency liquidations.

Best pack knife for the $$$ I could find for myself. More knockout power for a knife as light as it feels of any model I've wrapped my paw around!

But I still wanted it tailor made to make it the PERFECT pack knife for me!

I prefer a drop point rather than all that sweep up to the tip when I have a choice...when I don't have a choice, I make one-- or have it commissioned ;).

Rollover spine is easier on your maul and just classes everything up as some other brother noted somewhere lately, IIRC.

Clip point would look badass. Don't know if it'd out perform the ol trusty drop point for me, but it would be sexy fo sho.

Plus I know how ya like dem bowies :D ... go for it, NO REGRETS ... I don't have a patent on the mods, if I did I'd still greenlight ya brother cause you're the BEST!:)

That is pretty slick, I really like those changes you made Petey.
Can you message me or post how to contact Josh @ REK? Thanks for sharing.

Here was my plan I drew up for Josh for what I had in mind, if anyone is interested....
I changed my mind on the spine jimping after shipping and asked Josh to add the thumb divot that I have now and requested he keep the sides of it up to a sharp 90 deg for scraping...

Thanks brother!

Yeah, you know me... love dem bowies fo sho!:D Busse executes a drop point better than anyone, imo. You would think a perfect drop point would be fairly easy to execute, but not so. There is definitely a subtle art to it.

That said, I have a lot of awesome drop points from bossman. Not too many clip points. ;)
