Now.

Whichever HOG snagged that sweet minty basic 9 from AZCK, I envy you.

Please let me know if you ever decide to part with it.

Missed out again. Good grief.

Funny; someone dropped me a line on that, same day that I finally scored a user. I told the guy that he should take it. Amazing how many Busses that site has.

As much as I would love to have one, I like the bigger Scrapyard handle on the B10 more, and large or no choil more than elf choils. But any union of INFI and Res-C is a wonderful thing

Two have passed through here over some years, before the decision was taken that a keeper/user was needed. Funny how that works.

Basic Number 9's Factory Asymmetrical Grind, Still the most under rated, under priced Best performing rubber type handled knives in the world.

Some of the Original Asym Ergos, fill the same slot for non rubber type handled knives.

But if you like the handle the Basic #9 Asym, still does not have its match in the world today for Basic edge retention in soft clean materials.(Rope/Leather/pine/ living hardwood trees/fresh bones in large animals)

Yes I am including more modern Busse knives, just simple geometry, nothing so far compares well to the original Asymmetrical grind, and then there is the oh so easy return to sharpness with a Crock stick.

I have given away 7 number 9's, 6 number 7's, 4 number 5's and an untold number of Basic#3's.

I manage to keep a few ahead of each, I do continue to purchase them as they show up cheap, and yes I have compared side by side with the more modern, more commonly ground basics.(as well as the rats/yards and such)

So here is a comparison shot of the B9, B10 and 11. The B9 and B10 are only 1/4 difference in OAL.

Here is the paper that came with basics and how to sharpen an Assym edge. Hope you can read

Really interesting the difference in tips, not sure if it's the picture but the 11 has a noticeably more upswept tip.

I think the beefed up Scrapyard handle is a huge improvement, for my hand anyway.

I agree. The B10 is basically a 9 with a usable choil and a slightly thicker handle that has more grip feeling to it.

Nope, I did Not get this one, but I do snag a few most years.

I especially Like the Second year, production smooth coat in the High Desert Low Ride (only the #7 and #9)

Kind of limited in numbers.
