Forged down from some W1 round stock that i got from Decker on the forum.

This camp/pack knife measures in at 12 1/4'' o.a., with a 7 3/16'' blade. The width at the widest point is just over 1 1/2''. The spine is about 3/16'' thick.

The tang has a slight forged in taper, and the balance point is right at the plunge cut. The blade is flat ground with a slight convex edge. The blade was hand rubbed to 800grit and then clay quenched and eched. I followed up the etch with some polishing paste to bring out the hamon.

The handle is African blackwood and the pins are hand peened nickle silver(1/8'')

Nice Andy!

Were you given any reason why this thread was moved from the W&SS forum? Other makers often show their work there and it would be great for you to get involved with W&SS and forge some bushcraft style knives once in a while.

I really like the peening job on that. I do peened pins sometimes and think they are great.

Did you have any influence on the blade itself? It looks like a leuku style pattern in full tang- an extremely useful design.

Moving the thread without any explanation is odd- this seems deinfitely approipriate to the WSS forum?????

Thanks Christof, I really appreciate it. And likewise, you do some pretty terrific work yourself. And the leather work you do is fabulous as well.

Ive often wanted to ask you to do some of my leather work but didnt know if that was a service you offered??

As for the peened pins, thats all I do 99% of the time, I dont like mosaics pins, unless there requested , and I think simple pins allow the knife to speakfor itself, instead of trying to doctor it up with all the jazzy stuff.

Now thats not always the case some guys use them and at the right time there pretty nice, just not my thing;)

thanks, and I as well was curious as to why the thread move?"???? owell no biggie:)

Working on it right now. Didn't have a chance to send you a proper PM until today due to internet problems. Sorry.
