I recently scored one of my "Semi-Grail" knives (well, more like a "Chalice" knife I guess. :D ) a Basic 9. One of my favorite knives is Scrapper 6, I just love the Res-C handles so I wanted to find an older Busse Basic. I've been keeping an eye out for one for while, and finally thanks to GregB, I landed the 9. My question is, how many of the Basics came with a penetrator tip? I thought they were all plain, but the one I have has a nice penetrator tip on it. Any info would be appreciated, and I'll definately have some pics later. :thumbup: I'm super impressed with this knife so far, and can't wait to use it. Thanks!

Congrats on a great score. I was tempted by that deal, even though I already have one.
 
I'm surprised it sat there so long. I guess everyone is a little strapped for cash right now. ;)
 
Penetrator tip is uncommon as opposed to rare, they were made toward the end of production for the most part.

Mostly on #7s and #9s, though there were a few #5s, I do not currently remember any #3s with the Penetrator tips, they may have been made, but I do not currently remember them.
 
Great story! That was digging up an oldie. :D

I can't wait to get out and really use mine. My ISP decided to "erroniously disconnect" my service yesterday while I was at work, so I didn't get a chance to get any pics and upload them, but they're coming. Hopefully they get my internet back up before next week. :mad:
