Basic stick info?

Info was helpful. Im looking to try to learn so stick work before beginning privates. Im currently studing sayoc blade techniques and grapppling (brazilian jiu jitzu) and Im looking to add blunt weapons to the mix. Any recomended styles?
 
Modern Arnis
Balintawak
Doce Pares
Serrada Eskrima
Dog Brothers
Inosanto Blend
etc, etc.

All FMA styles are good. Some focus on different ranges though. Find a school that's near you, and take a demo class. Or ask the Guro for permission to watch a class. If you like the school, then join. :)

Ask your Guro at the Sayoc school if he knows of any FMA schools that you can join to get stick training.

Where do you train Sayoc Kali?

Sayoc has a separate stick curriculum that fits in with the Sayoc Kali blade material. If you check out sayoc.com you will see info on it and even on the upcoming dvds.

I train in NYC with Jim Berkeley. It actually never occured to me to ask him, but I will now. Thanks.
 
Btw, there is a Sayoc Kali Stick DVD coming out soon that covers Stick Grappling. Often overlooked in many instructional dvds. This is an eye opening dvd for many. There's clips of it at sayoc.com

In the near future we will release a dvd for different ranges and tactics.
