Went out and purchased this set up Saturday. Epiphone Viola "Paul McCartney" bass guitar and a Fender Rumble 25 watt bass amp. Already thinking I need a more powerful amp, so I'm headed on back to Guitar Center this afternoon. Any suggestions on which bass amp to get? Let's be realistic here, folks. Price limit, maybe $500. :)

Hmmm; why aren't the pics showing up?

not sure if you've had much experience with different amps but there is a lot of different tonal variation to be had in the different brands and different speaker sizes.
What type of music are you playing and what types of shows, venues, or jam sessions are you playing. Or are you just using it for practice by yourself?

I'm getting into bass the cheap way. Got a Fernandez Gravity IV for $40 off eBay, never used with a case. A few months later I found an SWR Goliath Jr. cab at the dump, just needed a fuse. Now I'm looking for an amp at yard sales. :)

if you guys are insterested I'll probably be selling my Carvin R1000 series 3 head soon. probably for around $350. I justquit my band so I'm gettin rid of some gear, just sold one bass, keeping my other 3 I think. Just a thought.

You need to look at used equipment; you can buy a great combo, or esperate crate/head for 25% of new price.

Well, the server won't let me post attachments, or I'd throw a couple of pics up of the 2 piece amp head/ speaker cabinet I ended up with.

Behringer 450 watt head and cabinet rated at 600 watts. Speaker cabinet has a 15" main speaker and a separate horn driver.
