Took a family trip to Basspro shops yesterday in Charlotte,N.C.. Went to look at fishing gear primarily but ofcourse ended up in the knife department-these folks are very proud of their knives -across the board they are about 15-20% higher on their prices-this forum and the internet have made me a very tough customer-paying full retail just don`t get it. Although they did have a pretty nice selection. On a brighter note :) got some new fishing goodies-oh yeah thats good stuff:D

Yeah, unfortunately Bass Pro ain't the right place to buy knives. Too bad too, since I'm only in one of their stores about a dozen times a year.

Wonder if you spoke with a manager and asked .... if they would match Internet prices.

That would have been a good idea-I did not think to ask-also since I was shopping for fishing gear i was already spending my childrens college money;) we all had a good time-I usually catch bass pro when they are having a sale-good deals to be had,if I can remember the next time I go I will ask.

Basspro prices are what you'd expect given they are a brick and mortar store. Their prices on some knives are not that much higher (e.g. Case or Buck) than mail-order. For Case you can at least pick your knife rather than take what you get from mail order. Go to the returns section. You can sometimes get a great deal.
