Bastardized patterns anyone?

My favorite pattern is a swell center whittler with main clip, coping and pen blades. However, I've never been a huge fan of the pen blade and was actually thinking about the possibility of a custom whittler with a manicure blade instead of the pen blade. :foot:

The other alternative would be to just omit the pen blade altogether with a half whittler, norfolk, or similar half congress-type pattern.

So have any of you ever changed the design of a traditional pattern when deciding on a custom knife or do you strictly stick to how the pattern was designed and intended?

I've never done it on a custom, but I've darn sure altered a few blades on production knives to suit me.

Thats why its custom. With the right maker you can have a knife created to your specs.

Excellent Point. If there was an opportunity to go fully bespoke then this would be it.
