Some Bastid left this Scotch at my apartment last week and now every other scotch tastes like crap :grumpy: :grumpy:

Right just buy more you say.... the shop is sold out:eek:

At $109 a bottle the owner said it just flew out the door :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:

We're in trouble. :grumpy:

The bottle says "Edradour." And that is the smallest distillery in Scotland ... I know, I've been there.

Perhaps this is a special bottling from Edradour. If so, we could be out of luck!!:grumpy:

Yep ... it's Edradour. Park Ave Liquors lists it, but it ain't cheap:

Tony, send it to me and you won't have a problem anymore! :D

:D

I'm intrigued...what quality, exactly, does a Madeira cask lend to this offering? Absolutely stunning knives, BTW!

Any chance of getting a nip of that tomorrow night?

Sushi and Scotch. Mmmmmm.

Dear Colleague and Fellow Busse Fanatic ... there's only ONE WAY to find out! :D;)

Does this mean you're coming to AZ, my friend?? :D You know I hate to drink the good stuff by myself!! (Seriously, is this a reference to the kind of casks used for Madeira wine? Its been a long time!)

I wish! There's been what we government types call a "re-organization" or "transformation" at the agency where I work. I may never get another day of free time again ...:grumpy::( [Maybe after the upcoming election.]

At least I can honestly say that ... yes, this is undoubtedly a reference to casking in old madeira casks. An interesting choice for a single malt that's as light and floral/grassy as Edradour. BUT, if Tony G liked it, it will be very good. I've learned to trust his taste in alcohol. :D

send that bastid over here to leave some scotch!

beautiful picture, by the way.
absolutely pornographic.

Tony, that is a very nice whisky:thumbup::thumbup:

You should also try "The Balvenie - single barrel 15y" it's less peaty but another jewel from the Speyside (approx 47,8% vol).

After discovering a lot of whiskies the last two years I noticed that in the beginning I liked the islandwhiskies (Talisker, Lagavulin, Ardbeg etc) the best but slowly this changed and now this Balvenie together with the Old Pulteney 17y are my favs. Oh and don't forget Glenmorangie 10y or the 18y:D

Ballechin is the peated version of Edradour, the same way Longrow is the peated version of Springbank.

They are made in the same Distillery as the Distillery-named malt but in smaller quantities, and afterward they have to wash everything out carefully so the Distillery-named malt don't get the peat taste/smell.
