Anyone using Bat boxes? I made a Mini Bat Box and finally got a bat in it. It took two summers. The box is placed on my shop at 8 feet under an eve facing South, in the shade. It's so cool to see that little bat in there!

Looks like a neat project. If we had more bats out here in suburbia, I would give it a shot. I love the little critters. Excellent idea:)

neighbor found 4 teeny bats in her (empty) bathtub last week & asked me if i could move them. they were encouraged into a 8x10x4 in.cardboard box & the box was relocated to the storage shed. i tore off part of the box lid to give them a exit/entry hole & stuck it up in the dark rafters of the shed (which has no door). instant bat box.

she stuck a sticker on my shirt that said 'Batty Bat', it's now on my monitor surround.

Thanks, Steely!! LOL! The Bat boxes are easy to make. Well, the small ones are! Give it a try. :)
And thanks for helping those Bats, Boy! ;)

:) i think they're cute little creatures, they eat tons of insects that do not then pester me while i sleep during the daytime, and their flying and sonar use is fascinating.

of course my carpathian/transylvanian ancestry and being 610 years old have nothing to do with it. those rumours about me are completely untrue. got to go now, i feel parched and need to up my liquid intake.....

Bats are cool. I've often enjoyed seeing them fly around Fort Benning at night.

Don't get bitten, though.
