took my batac out for some throwing. i don't have a good place for throwing anymore, and the knife was frequently impacting gravel and granite if it bounced far enough off the tree.
this is a hard knife to throw. i always have trouble with it. felt like i was learning how to throw it all over again. it has been a while since i last threw it, but i'm also not very good at it. anybody have any suggestions for throwing the BATAC?
here's some crappy pics of the edge. it was convexed by me to an excellent edge. probably the best job i've ever done on any of my knives with just sandpaper. after all the beating on granite and gravel, it's got quite a few little dents, scratches and dings. i even picked a few little partially torn pieces of metal off the edge.
in a fit of insanity partly inspired by uncle jarvis, i proceeded to chop at a large rock (not a cinder block) about 10 light hits. this dulled the edge quite a bit more and faster but nothing worse than impacting the gravel. the worst of the dings were about half a millimeter deep. it'll probably take me about 2 hours total to fix up the edge.
