Check this out boys.
Tinbasher is creating yet another master piece. I can hardly wait to get the finished product.
Iv'e attached photos along with the comments made by Tinbasher in his emails to me. Hopefully this will help to describe what is happening at each stage.
For those of you that have seen Venomblades blades knife in another post, you will already have an idea of what Tinbasher is capable of. He is a gentleman to deal with and obviously knows his stuff.
And so it begins
600 grit and a convexed edge
The convex edge ,swage ,grind line and spine get polished on my hard felt wheel.I use this wheel as a strop for the final sharpening as well.
Its at this stage the inspector starts taking a interest, polished with a soft calico buff and white compound.
Now the scales are milled to the same thickness as the Busse ones and drilled
Then the ends are shaped to the old scales ,sealed and polished
Now they are glued on and left to set
now all the hand shaping starts ,just wet with Meths in this picture
(The scales are made from a beautiful piece of Jarrah) Great colours
