While the Badgers are not designated choppers, like the FBMs, I decided to test my SE out on a 2x4 just to see how it would do in a pinch. Tell me how you think it did for a knife this size.

If I did have to use it on wood I would baton if possible.

cool vid!!

why dont ya take a crack at that pole in the background???

;)

I hate that thing. If you are referring to the telephone pole that is. There is so much unpermitted work done in this neighborhood it's crazy.

But you have a good idea. :p

i bet we could topple that thing in 30 minutes or less.

12 beers + two ak's = tyrkon and mark go to jail for disrupting phone service to the san gabriel valley.

Nice work there. Always great to see a Busse in action :)

now "I will take her!" :)

Thats it...a BATAC is in my future....and at only 227 that seems like a bargain!! I'll have to order one next week.....my FIRST.....Busse....

Tyrkon,
IMHO, your knife did exceptionally well for its size, ESPECIALLY since you were doing it backhanded, which I think is much less powerful than a typical forward chop. Of course, I'm sure your knife was as sharp as a scalpel, which no doubt helped it. And if that was stock from the factory, well... don't say anything 'cause then I'm gonna look silly thinking you sharpened her up.

I put a d-guard on mine. It really helps get the hand farther back on the handle for a better chop!

Thand sounds like a good idea. Do you have any pics we could see? I wish there was an easy way to make one that out can easily tako on and off.

37 CHOPS and less than 1/3 rd of the way through a 2x4. that is HORRIBLE.

The best you can say is that sometime in 2007 it would have made it through.

Great post. Now we know. Batacs cant chop worth a damn.

If you search threads for 'D Guard Tutorial', you'll see a good one that KAAK did. Not easy to take on and off though.
