I Am Considering Purchasing A Batac To Use. The Two Finishes I Am Looking At Is The Double Cut And The Satin Finish. Can Anyone Give Me Any Insight As To What Might Be A Better Finish For A User.

Double cut is fine. Satin might be very slightly easier to clean, but it will show more scratches.

By the way, I don't think the badgers were offered in satin or double cut, except the LE and a few other limited/custom shop models. So you're looking at an up-market BATAC or stripping the coating off of a combat grade.

Yes, I Am Looking At Spending A Few More Dollars. Thats One Reason I Wanted To Get Some Other Opinions. I Like Both Just Thought The People On This Site Might Help Me Make A Wise Choice.

For a user, you might consider a DIY satin. Get a coated BATAC, strip the coating, then buff the blade with a Scotch-Brite wheel. Great user finish. Do a little digging, plenty of threads about it.

+1 Tyrkon has both a pictorial and video on the process.

The final outcome is darn nice and is perfect for a user.

Satin can be touched up with a scotchbrite pad. DCBB gets its facelift from a blasting cabinet.

You pays your money and takes your chances.

You can never go wrong with Satin, but many like DC better. Wow, that was alot of help

IIRC all the Satin and DC's were .250 or more. If you want .187 strip a coated and make it satin or BB it.
Or you could just beat the coating off.

what's with capitalizing all the words??

i generally prefer dc for users, but have a few satin users as well. the dc holds up better, but requires more to restore.

the satin shows scratches more readily, but is restored easily at home with some sand paper or a scotchbrite wheel.
