Yeah, I know! INFI! But function wise, how different are these two? Not a HUGE difference in size or thickness. Both drop points, though the HRLM appears to have more belly for skinning. Wouldn't these both be used for close to the same chores? Or am I off here? Just curious. I'll end up with both I am sure. Thanks. :)
 
Well, there is the extra inch of blade length on the BATAC.

HR LM Specs:
Blade Length 4"
Overall Length 9 1/8"
Stock thickness 3/16"
Steel is Through hardened SR101
Black coating, black canvas micarta handles

BATAC specs:
Blade Length 5"
Overall Length 10 3/4"
Stock thickness 3/16"
Steel is INFI
You pick the coating and handles.

And, of course, the LE is 1/4" thick. Also, the BATAC will fit better in the small SPEC-OPS sheath.
 
I bought a couple Howling Rats in resC and they forced me to buy the HR LM's. The BATAC would be better for me with the same length handle (as the rats) and the extra inch of blade. Put in the bigger choil and there you have it. The rats are just about perfect the way they are.

i bought the HRLM as a consolation prize for myself after striking out on the SS4, with the thought i'd sell it later..
But the handle, heft, feel of that little HRLM really Grew on me! Later on i picked up an SS4.. and i prefer the HRLM over the SS4!

I like my HRLM so much.. it prompted me to order a BA-TAC.. because the handle looks similar and i think i will like That too! :)

but stock has been kinda spotty.. when asked when there'd be more, Eric replied..

The HRLM is pretty sweet.

The Tac handle and Mischeif 6 handles don't agree with my hand but the Little Mischeif handle is nice. It is more rounded and a lot thinner which is comfortable for me.

The Tac handle turned me off on the BATac but now that I have a HRLM, my small micarta handled user slot is nicely filled.
