Bates Boots?

Looking into getting myself a new pair of boots for this fall/winter. I've been looking at Bates particularly, their ZR6 and Delta 6. Are they a good brand? I've heard that they are, but always nice to have several views on the subject.

I had a pair of Bates Floaters 20 years ago. They were decent boots. Looked okay for office wear, were warm enough and very lightweight. Not very much support. I also had a pair of Bates shoes that were pretty good too. No more recent info.

I've worn a pair of Bates GX-4's for over a year now and they've held up great and were very comfortable right out of the box. This is my third pair of Bate's that I've had over the years...each a different model and I've liked all of them. Of course when you're talking footwear opinions will probably vary greatly.

Best of luck!

I'm wearing a pair of Bates boots right now. I won't be purchasing them again - but I have to elaborate. These boots are worn five days a week, on my FedEx route, they take LOT of a abuse. They haven't held up well at all, but most people don't put their work boots through as much as I do in this line of work. They didn't take long to break in, and once they did, they really felt more like a sneaker than a boot. Not a good thing when you need a lot of ankle support and you're moving around constantly.
