when MyWifeThinksImCrazy posted this in another one of my threads, i figured it was time to baton with my eskabar

I think you should try beating on it too. You'll find that it is truly a great knife.

so i decided to get out and do it today

the opening shot, eskabar in the starting position

after a whack from the baton

a few more whacks...

like a wedge! if it works this well, a BK2 should be a batoning fiend!

at this point in time the eskabar decided it wanted more!

i had to hold it back, the stump is just too much....

maybe a BK2 could do it?

You should go get a BK13 now and go at it with that thing. I love mines. Pretty much any BKT knife will be great.

The Eskabar is great at batoning; I tried it one time just to see and it kind of surprised me. Obviously it won't work well for anything bigger than 2-3 inches thick, but with anything less than that it flies through the wood. It got a couple of deep scratches all the way through the coating, but it got the job done and the scratches just made it look even better.
