For Valentine's day I recieved a brand new bright and shiny Batonlite. Now here's the important stuff.
Weight:
Much lighter than I thought it would be for being an aluminum flashlight. It even feels lighter than my Mini Mag which came as a real surprise. However, for keychain carry, it may be a good thing.
Light:
I have no scientific means of testing this light so I just compared it to other lights that I have. The Batonlite is much brighter than my Arc AAA and my Streamlite Stylus, but it isn't as bright as the Princetontech Attitude and not nearly as bright as my Inova 5X. Still, it puts out a nice focused beam that should be plenty for my uses.
"Other" uses:
I'm in no way a MA guru but the design seems to be as useful as any other impact tools
Gripes:
First gripe is that alot of light seems to escape from sides of the Lexan cap near the LED's. I would much prefer the LED's to be milled into the handle similar to the Inova. I'm not worried about the Lexan cracking but it doesn't allow for the full function of the light IMO. The other problems I have is that there are not enough threads for the screw top of the light. The top feels wobbly and has already turned on in my pocket once. Lastly, I dont' like the flash button on the light. It is much too small for a light this size. I would prefer a switch like on Surefire lights or on the Inova.
Overall:
A nice little light and for 20 bucks, you can't go wrong.
