Batteries for New Flashlights--What and where to buy?

So I finally got around to picking a few quality flashlights ... ended up deciding on a 4sevens quark AA2 neutral bright (may go with the XPG or the XML, still ruminating) and I got a lighthound tactical flashlight (single AA--same as a balder se-1 I think) as a backup.

For the lighthound, I bought 3 of the expensive AW14500P AW 14500 Protected Rechargeable Lithium Batteries and one of the Intellicharge i4 chargers that can apparently charge just about any type of battery out there. I will use these in the lighthound, but sounds like I shouldn't use the 14500s in the 4sevens (tell me if I'm wrong).

Now I'm trying to figure out what other AAs to buy. Sounds like some eneloop rechargeable NiMhs would be a good investment for the 4sevens. I already have some energizer rechargeables, but sounds like the eneloops are better.
But for better performance and longer shelf life, sounds like I should look at getting a good supply of lithiums. Also, sounds like the lithiums are the safest in terms of not ruining your flashlight?

For you flashlight-o-philes, let me know if I'm right about all of this and what battery to get and where you get it for the best price. Also, are the eneloop NiMhs as safe as lithiums?

I use eneloops and they are great as well as very well regarded. If you have a membership and one is nearby, Costco sometimes carries them.

I have been buying Eneloops on Amazon. You can find pretty good prices if you look. Eneloops are the only AA and AAA batteries that I use now.

You can use 14500's in some of the 4Sevens AA lights. Check the voltage specs.

The Eneloop AA's are great in the Quark. I get mine locally at Ritz camera.

Sanyo Eneloops for rechargeable.

Energizer Ultimate Lithium for non rechargeable. Target has had the four pack for about 8 bucks lately. Been on sale since Christmas.

Regards.

I like the lithium non rechargeable. They're lighter than alkaline and they work better in colder temperatures. Important when you may leave your flashlight on your sleeping bag all night in the winter and need to use it in the middle of the night.
