battery storage?

What's the best way to store batteries, specifically 123 lithiums? I've heard of putting them in the refrigerator or even freezer, but I've also heard that cold temps shorten the run-time. Does that just apply when they are actually in use? thanks for any help

Indeed they do (at least when batteries are being used). Why don't you check out manufacturer's recommendations ? Most batteries are kept/stored at room temperatures, i doubt yours is any different. Heat harms them just as well as cold does so why reinvent a wheel ?
