This is 126 layers of bad axe. OAL - 31", 10 3/8" across from blade to blade. cutting edges are 5 1/4" and the damascus top cap is topped off with a 3" damascus spike, All damascus is from the same 126 layer billet. Handle is maple with 22 tacks. What do you all think??

Thanks for lookin and any comments,

Bill

Got any land next door Bill? Damn, I've got alot to learn. Beautiful job. I really like the way the pattern just fans out to match the blade shape.

Awesome freakin' axe! I bet if I had that hanging on the wall behind my desk the bull*^#t factor would drop to zero in my office. :grumpy:

Neat patterm manipulation Bill. You should show the guys on axeforums . I think silver tacks would look better but other than that its a stunning piece.

Wow, thanks everyone, I throught this thing turned out really cool, but I didn't figure it would be such a big hit, that really made my week. Thank you.

Saberman, I didn't make in for anyone in particular. Its available if you know anyone that might be interested.

Ray, raising the bar my butt, I'm just trying to keep up with you.

J. there's several acres here close, come on down, that would be fun. I've tryied to get fitz to move down here closer for almost 2 years now, but his butt won't budge.

Roger, it would good on that wall too. :)

Mark, I had some silver tacks and the wife and I decided these gave it that more old, antique look. These are a dull bronzy tack and really give it that older look in person.

Thanks again everyone,

Bill

Bill, The damascus pattern you used really works well with the ax! Have you used it with any of your hawks? Hope you got a buyer for this one......

Bill, nice job on the assegai! It looks like its a lower count than the ax. How's the assegai mounted. Can't tell if you forged a socket or if its a sleve.......

bill, i'm a big fan of axes but this one just blows me away it has a real wow factor  thanks for posting it.
