Has anyone stripped a battle grade yet? I just got a TGBG in the mail and was thinking about stripping it.

i have thought about it but i like the coating on mine to well, and i stripped my boss jack but it has alot of tool marks under the coating and it was hard to get out, so i would be cautious

Thanks for the input. Was your Boss Jack SR101?

Infi, i will show before and after

After:

it turned out pretty good but alot of fine sanding and polishing

Highlander 20026 did you leave the handles on for the process??? I'm wanting to do a BG ASH-1, so I'm trying to collect all the info I can.

Here is CG Boss Jack strip that I did yesterday. Was "urban camo". Not quite as fly as Highlander's but this is how I like them.

Citristrip for 2 hrs, plastic scraper, rinse, 400 grit sandpaper hand rub, 600 grit hand rub, mineral oil. I need to pick up some more 600 grit paper to give it another go-over but it is close. Feels like getting a new knife, the Boss Jack I always wanted it to be.

Man that looks really good!!!! Forgive my ignorance as I'm still very new to this but is that INFI or Sr-101???

Thanks Tac. It is INFI but I thought it might help to share my process. I haven't stripped any SR-101; I would probably take that steel to a higher polish for better rust resistance. Considerably more hand sanding, most likely.

Most defiantly helps! Like I was saying earlier the more info the better, I believe tinfoil hat timmy???? had posted in another thread that Sr-101 develops a certain patina rather quickly. I'm still going to give it a shot either way.

I stripped my cgfbm and my mmd. the mmd had a lot of tool marks, but I think the tool marks look great. it makes the blade look bad ass like I made it myself.
