Battle Mistress Question... Does CG = Fat ?

I have a Fat Battle Mistress from the BCS and was looking at getting a sheath. I have not heard back from a few folks but most have a CG FBM in stock to use as a template. Looking back at the BCS store, the description for the CG sounds identical to the Fatty.

Is this true? Or is there a difference?

Thanks.

The CG FBM is about .25"....the FFBM, or fatty is about .31". So the same sheath would not fit both.

The CG stands for combat grade.

As rt014 says, it's thinner than the non-corrugated fatties from the Company Store.

The BCS Knives section is then a little misleading....

To me "Combat Grade" means "Coated"
Fat or Thin or in between if it's coated it's still a CG.

I was also about to weigh in with a similar comment. CG has nothing to do with the thickness.

Combat grade does not mean coated.

Look at the Sus-Scrofa, you could get a double cut combat grade. I'm sure the SFNO was offered the same way.

An LE is a limited edition and is numbered unless it is requested sterile. All LE's share a similar configuration, they have no options. I think all LE's are satin finished, but not all satin finished Busse's are LE's, there are plenty of satin finished Game Wardens that are not LE's.

When the thickness or primary grind is changed, it's a different knife. For example a HOGFSH is not a FSH is not a Heavy Heart.

An FFFBM is not a CGFBM (or an LE or an SE or a Prototype, that's right, there are five flavors).

I ordered the FBMLE sheath from his sale page and it fits my FFBMs just beautifully! :)

So what started this all....

....I guess they do not have a FFFBM (Fat Flat Fusion Battle Mistress) to use as a pattern!

Although they do have...
Fusion Battle Mistress both Combat and LE

Hence the Combat Grade question.

Yes, the FFFBM and the LE are the same thickness, only difference is the FFFBM has a 3/4 grind and the LE is full flat ground. A leather sheath made for the LE will fit the FFFBM just fine. I have a loaner FFFBM in house so that is why I can make the comparison.

Hope this helps, and if you havent heard from us yet please be patient, we just got back from a week long visit with my ill father and everything is still in an uproar. If you fear that the e-mail didnt reach us just send another and my boss will be with you as soon as she can. :)
