I see many of the Fusion Battle Mistresses for sale but very few other variants. Is the performance of the FBM lower than the other variants?

No, the FBM is just the most recent iteration, so there are more of them on the market at the time. The CG FBMs are some of the best all-around choppers out there.

It's a good time to be shopping, as prices on the Exchange are falling. There was an amazing deal last week, user CGFBM w/sheath for only $350. I was sorely tempted, and I have three CGFBM already. If you are patient and persistent, a good deal will come your way.

I saw that 350 one too, and was sorely sorely tempted to snag it. Such a steal. Whomever got that one really had the stars align for them.

I'd say the performance is better rather than lower. :p There have simply been far more FBMs made than Ergo Battle Mistresses or Straight Handled Battle Mistresses, and the FBMs are newer, so they're easier to come by and therefore less collectable and less expensive. Now, a lot of guys here really love the SHs and even Ergos, but in my opinion, the Fusion line does perform better, especially with regard to ergonomics. The Ergo grips killed my hands every time I tried them, but the Fusion grips work just fine.

The Magnum handles on the 1/4" thick CG FBM are the best IMO. The FFFBM with mags is a little too thick for me and the ergo I have is especially thin infi (zero tolerance variant). I don't care for the looks of the CBT on the smaller Busse's like the Hell Razor and Jackhammer but I really like the performance of them on the CG FBM and AK. Pumpkin slaying season is coming up, you know?:D
