Battle Mistress value?

I have a Battle Mistress I was considering selling and would like to know a ballpark value on it.It is straight handled, black with satin spine, hollow rivets on handle.A small scratch in finish(not in steel). With sheath, box(not sure if box is original,it's a white cardboard box with no markings) and original sharpening instructions.Blade retains original geometry.Any ideas?

Well not really sure until seeing it but I would say that an old SHBM will go between $500 and $600. If it is a special edition, then closer to 600 or maybe even more. Ultimately, they are worth what people are willing to pay for them. sell it to me cheap and I'll owe you a favor:thumbup:

However, due to the fact that the new ones will be comming out, it will be more for a collector than a user as the new ones will probably be in the $400+ range, non Heavy Ord, with the HO's going for another 100 I would guess.

yah, the only problem is that so many peopel delete the price they were selling their knives for once they have sold. I can't stand that. Has there been any SHBM's that have recently sold? The last one was Progunners

What is the logic behind this? I cant for the life of me figure it out.

I don't know, but from now on our mission should be to respond to their post with a quote on their price so that it stays forever.....

Yeah the quote idea is good. I think the prices should be left. If they would have all been left in the add then whoever's writing the new Busse book could have researched and made graphs of the rise of each Busse knife through the years. Someone is writing a Busse book aren't they? With a bunch of pictures of all the different Busses. I would buy one  .

good idea lets do that, and also we should post to all their future threads with that price so we can haunt the bastards for all time n eternity!

i have suggested the prices be left also...

another thing, if you post a knife for sale and it doesn't sell then you should raise the price just to teach them a lesson. then next time they might be a little more anxious to buy it!:)

like this.....

OH REALLY, YOU ARE ASKING ONLY 1600.00 FOR THAT SET?

Where are you located, if your local I can come and take a pic of it and post it for you. :D

Definitely in the 5 to 6 range and yes more of a collectors piece. Everyone is really caught up in the Fusion line right now which is fine if you're going to use it right away but they're going to be available for at least a couple of years so for me I'm not really in any hurry to buy any of them right now.

It drives me nuts too. That is why I leave all the prices in my threads. I does make it hard to guage the market when guys delet their prices. All you have to do is put a big SOLD! behind the price and maybe make a new post in the thread stating that this knife or that one is sold.

Then it is settled! Anyone from this point forth who does not leave in the thread the price of the knife/knives that they sold will be labled a loser :thumbdn: .

:D

It has been my experience that this is just how it's done on almost every deal I've seen posted.Maybe some kind of unwritten rule here. :)
