Last night at a local wedding I was talklng to a guy that mention he some sorta knife that was his dads and he got it when he passed. I said cool who made it. Busse or something like that, said he has never heard of that name or anyone that knows it. I asked him what the knife looks like and he said his dad ordered it around 1997-98 and its call a battle mistress. Has a hard plastic type sheath. LOL I told him you have a awesome knife worth a bit. I have yet to see it but cannot wait.

Cool story. It makes you wonder where all those old Busse blades have disappeared to, forgotten in a locker or trunk, up in the attic, or passed on to folks who don't know or don't care what the knives are.

I made sure my wife knows how much my guns and knives are worth so that she will take care of them properly if I pass before her. I want to make sure she doesn't get cheated! Certain things are to go to certain kids/grandkids. It would be a shame to have a Busse knife or an old Winchester shotgun end up in the hands of someone who doesn't or wouldn't appreciate it!;)

My boys have two closets worth of death and destruction to dig through when I buy it. I got a rockola m1 Carbine from a lady whose husband died. She gave it to me! So that will be gifted to someone when I die.

Amazing story... he could prob get 25 for it at a yard sale... I'll give ya' 50 for it :D

If your widow takes the M1 on Pawn Stars, here's how it'd go down: :p

Rick: "I can go $50 on your rifle, MAYBE I'll be able to get $100 from a collector if I get lucky-- it's a big risk for me...plus it's kinda long & bulky and it'll take up valuable case space that I could be using for coins & rings, I got overhead, you know."

Old Man: "D**NIT RICK! You know how long that last M1 laid in the case before we sold it...$25 lady, that's the best we're gonna be able to pay...take it or leave it"

Widow: "It is kinda smelly & it gets oil stains on my vacuum cleaner bag in the broom closet at home...I'll take it!"

Yeah that's exactly how it would go to. One guy offered her $600 for it. She just wasn't that dumb. Her hubby was big into the guns so she had a clue. Was big on knives to. Had a few that would bulge your eye's. Her man was the guy who got me into high end blades.
