Hi All,

I bought a Swamp Rat Battle Rat a little while ago from a user on BladeForums. It is a 9.5 inch chopper, and was the first knife made by Swamp Rat.

I thought I would share a few pictures.

Feel free to share any of your own Battle Rats or original Swamp Rat knives such as the Camp Tramp!

Great pics! The Battle Rat is my favorite large blade. I've owned 3 of them (unfortunately had to sell all 3), but one day I hope to find another one and add it to my Busse-kin family.

Ah yes! The Battle Rat is one of my all time favorites, right after the Camp Tramp. iirc the CT was the first Swamper? I've slept since then.... :p

You're probably right about the CT vs BT--I think they were produced right about the same time. (When I was a toddler, hence the need for buying used. :))

I'm low tech, I just rub the blade against the stone till its sharp. :p

Here I chopped a hole through 6 inch thick ice. The Battle Rat did it in less than 5 minutes.

Here is the Battle Rat after some chopping and batoning of wood.

Battle Rat was the Flagship for years!!! I can't even remember how many I had and what types but the battle guard, black and tan, all tan, and my favorite the full flat ground convex Satin Battle Rat

The battle rat is the one chopper I would keep if I had to keep only one chopper. It's a legend! I'll admit my basic 11 is a better chopper but the BR is a better "do all" type big knife. I have 2 camp tramp also and love them as well !

Yep- it was for a Koyote Knife i had but fits the BR like a dream.
