One thing I have always loved about knives is the story they tell or the way they stir the imagination. You can sometimes hold a knife and it talks to you.
I stripped my rat over the weekend and the finish came out very nicely, between the grind line and the spine the finish is quite rough with some deep scratches but this almost makes the knife looks like it has come out of a forge and gives it a certain aged look.
Anway last night it was on kitchen duty and it performed exceptionally - was having a great deal of fun. This rat is so sharp I was using it like a paper guillotine, just slid the knife into what was being cut and giggled at how well it performed. Gave it a wash after and put it away in it's nylon sheath (still waiting for the leather pants Dwayne is making for me) This morning I woke up and unsheathed my rat to find the lovely begginings of a rich brown patina.
Just imagine what this knife will look like when I give it my son in about 50 years !!
Amazing knives !!!!
