I just recieved a swamp rat battle rat after about 4 weeks of waiting. :D I am new to the forums and would like educated feedback on the reputation of the battle rat and its capabilities.:)

Hey, you've got one, you tell us!!! ;)

Not to pick on you specifically, but I find it amusing how many people buy a knife first, then come here and ask for reviews... wouldn't it make more sense to ask about a knife first, before laying out lots of $$$?? :D

Sorry to confuse us, I did my research and made my choice. What I meant was any "additional" thoughts or experiences about the blade:rolleyes: By the way, so far it has been addicting using such a comfortable and capable tool for general camp chores and hiking:cool:

I'll bet!! I'm still saving my lunch money for a Ratweiler :D

Im sure that you will be as happy with your RAT as I am with mine. You should probably order your Ratweiler now and by the time you get it you can pay off your card easy! The wait is the worst part but worth it!

I have reserved one but have no idea how long i will have to wait, 4 weeks isn't bad.Obviously like yourself i have checked it out in the forums etc,but i was wanting to know what you think of it now you have it.Do you own other knives and how does it compare?Any info you can give me would be appreciated.I am looking forward to getting mine whenever.

The Battle Rat is an excellent chopping tool and also does well at general cutting and slicing chores that do arise. I also own a CS Recon Scout which is an exceptional blade as well. I have not encountered any handle problems with the CS Recon Scout, but I have heard sad stories of it becoming loose. For a better chopping tool I have a CS LTC Kukri, though no where near as tough as the BR and as I said earlier, normal cutting tasks are not as natural as with the BR. The Battle Rat seems to be a great combo of chopper/utilty tool with a darn comfy handle!
