Im having a hard time deciding which to buy between the Battle Rat, Rodent 9 or M9 would be the best chopper. The battle rat is the lightest but the forward weight seems like it would help, the Rodent 9 is damn near full flat convex or high saber. and the M9 i think is the heaviest.(I think) but not by much. So what do you yall think. Thank You

The m9 is the only one I have used and it's a decent chopper but really stands out as a knife.

I think the battle rat will be the beat chopper of the bunch. I owned one and it felt very fast and had come good forward weight.

I say wait for the scrap yard 911 or get a M9.

Either wait for the scrapyard 9 or get the oddest 9 since it's out, strange grip but surprisingly comfortable.

The battle rat with res c handle is awesome but you will have to find one on the after market, same with the m9.

The m9 is one of my favorite knives. The handle is super comfortable and like kalel said is a great knife. I can post a comparison shot if you want, I g ot my buddies rodent 9

Good luck

here they are
Swamp Rat Rodent 9, M9, Battle Rat

I would have to go with a Battle Rat for the best chopper! I have owned and used all 3, with the Battle Rat getting by far the most usage. The M9 is an excellent all around big bowie & camp knife, where as the R9 seems more like a dedicated chopper (IMHO). The Battle Rat is a "jack of all trades" for its size, due to its lighter weight, Res-C handle, and wicked comfortable (yet simple!) ergos. Also, the old school black crinkle coat is nearly impossible to wear off completely unless you are using the knife as a baton on a daily basis. Excellent forward weight but light overall for a 9'' chopper, and you CAN NOT beat differentially heat treated SR-101. If you can manage to hunt down a satin Battle Rat, you will not be disappointed either! The satin Battle Rat bit deeper and was easier to keep sharp due to the satin finish and zero edge. However, as you probably know, any satin SR-101 needs to be carefully watched and meticulously oiled...but I like this attention requirement personally! There were also tan Battle Rats that had the older desert finish, which felt like sand paper to the touch. The desert finish was very cool & unique, but I prefer the original black on black. If you can find a Battle Rat at a decent price, GRAB IT! Otherwise, get yourself a Rodent 9 if you seek a chopper as you won't be disappointed either way. I hope my post has been of some use, and wasn't just a Battle Rat rant...:o

I traded off my r9 because of the grip, i have a m9le and as its been said it feels more knifey than choppery. I must give my vote for the sbr! And mine has a very beautiful patina which i love
