Ok- I know posting this here is asking for it, but I'm going to post on the "other" forum too- and after all, it is all in the family! :D

Without giving you any reason or any idea what I will use it for, I would like your opinion-

You can only have one  - BR or FSH, which one would you choose and why? (Never mind the price difference)

C'mon and play along- it'll help pass the time 'til the new line comes out!

Battle Rat w/ pnetr tip , just love it  A light fast chopper... great for camp and back pack:D

If I'm using it, I'll take the BR. Rec-C handles feel leagues better to me, and the SR-101 is plenty tough.

Battle Rat, UNLESS it was an HOFSH! or even a Heavy Heart :D
The FSH just doesn't seem to have the UMF! that the heavier knives have.

Which BR are we talking about?

I have been told the Satin BR with the full convex grind is a solid performer that will run off and leave the standard BR.

I cannot speak from experience as I have never used any BR.

I used a FSH with Mag grips to clean up after Wilma last year. No complaints at all on the chopping power. It's also strapped to the front of my 4 wheeler till the FBM comes out. I know there will be personal preferences, but I would go out with either with no question. Don't you just love being able to chose between two winners? :D

Well the main thing I'm learning is that you can't go wrong with either of these- but that's my problem- I haven't met the Busse or Swamp Rat yet that I didn't fall in love with! (and yes- I'm REALLY scared about there being a third company soon!)

I have unfortunately reached the point where I have to sell something to be able to buy anything else, and I have all these large knives ..... so of course, now I want some smaller ones. I'm hoping something I get from you guys will help me decide what to part with.

Ok so Schuey, how did you decide which to part with?

Crap. Now, what do we say? Hmmm :o

If we tell you to keep the best one, that means that you'll sell the worst one. You'll be happy, but we'll only be mostly happy, which means that you're getting the advantage.

However, if we tell you that the worst one is the best one, then you sell the best one. You'll only be mostly happy, but we'll be very happy. But then our consciouses will constantly be nagging us, meaning that we'll only be mostly happy. That means that we're no better off than before!

I mean, I tell myself that I can live with that, but can I really?

Hmmmm.

Huh???

I kept the BR simply because I like the feel of the Res C handles just that much better than the standard grips on the HH. Knowing that I am beating on a $120.00 "peanut butter spreader" also helps me to sleep well at night. :D

The fact that Jerry is about to release "The Baddest Blade in the Land!!" may have something to do with it...... :p

.... and a little thing known as bills.

Only 1?

This isn't even a good comparison as it would be more BR/BM and FSH/CT. Then at least the sizes sort of match up.

I don't have a FSH, but I DO have a HH mag grips, CT, BR, SHBM and a couple of SHSH's.

My fav's seem to center more on the ~7" blades of the Hearts and CT. This is just personal preference.

The BR would probably outchop the FSH if that's a priority. Other than that, it's a bit too long and overbalanced for other work, IMO.

It's just that the SH's and the Tramp have a more natural feel to me.

No, I'm NOT selling my SHBM or the BR. LOL

Rob, can you please sell a poor kid an SHBM? I am begging. I have never even held one of these, but my grandpappy (a WWII vet) had one and he lost it so I would like to have one just to remember him by:thumbup:

Wow- nice touch Cobalt! Did it work?

Naah .....

He would just go around terrorizing poor defenseless bowling pins. LOL

Those WWII SHBM's are really rare though. Good luck in the search.
