If you EVER see a Battle Rat user for 150.....GET IT!!!

Users are generally 200-225.

That is one knife that is worth EVERY penny you pay for it!

I went back and double checked- it was $180- the cheapest I've seen one go in months.
I hope whoever got it is beating the snots out of it...Ahhhh Swamp Rat love...it's an odd thing!

I don't think I've seen a NIB go for more than $300. So that's probably top-end.

BR/CT are great knives. I should use mine more. Hell, they are already broken in. (The BR needs a good sharpening tho. And it's got a toof. Ouch!)

Yep, the SR knives were (and are) excellent tools. I especially liked the Camp Tramp, tan version. Something close to that might be the offering over at Scrapyard which is currently available for under $150 when all is said and done. The Battle Rat is still a classic, but seriously, the newest NMBM sporting the extended blade is the ticket if you want a real chopper of magnum size. Good luck finding one of those at a decent price!

You might try to find a used Dogfather. The DF is probably the best bang for your buck but the problem will be finding anybody who wants to give one up. I'd snag a SOD quick and be done with your selection...great ergos, sweet blade and tough ultra-strong blade in a tight bowie configuration.

Reading this thread makes me want to kick myself. I had the opportunity to get a Battle Rat just before they were discontinued and I missed out.

Battle Rats - I do like them :)

Nice price, great size and shape (not too big or heavy) and cool colors!! Coffee anyone?? :D:thumbup:

The Battle Rat is just about perfect for a large knife. It shares "go to" duty with my Camp Tramp and my Active Duty.

$200 for a Battle Rat is a great price and I would expect to spend closer to $250. You will NOT want this as a safe queen, it begs to be used.

did some1 say BR??

this thing have cut thru everything, tree, paper, meat, leather, computer, you name it. Used to be all tan but took off the coating some years back...

I just picked one up. It's pretty sweet. I'm considering stripping it to see the differential tempering.
