Battle Shark and TGLB Comparison

The three middle knives are battle shark, tglb and American regulator

The battle shark has a skinnier handle and a lighter blade feels completely different from the tglb in hand

Yup I agree with honorearth, battle shark is much lighter and thinner blade:
Also the way TGLB fits your hand
No comparison IMO

The battle shark feels like it was designed as a fighting knife above all else and the tglb is more of utilitarian blade good for all around use.

Yea...the TGLB is a perfect feel ain't it.
Love that ZT Honor
And that doesn't mean Zero Tolerance for those that don't know.
And Honor, is that a Paul Chen?

Zombie tools vakra.
No Paul Chen... what one are you referring to.
And yes the ZT folder is awesome. I personally don't like folding knives and never have until I found this one.

I love the way my TGLB feels in my hand, and I love the balance.

I find coffin handles only appropriate for daggers, and I have no use for daggers. Others may feel differently, but unless I want to be able to easily rotate a knife in my hand to make use of multiple edges.....I'd rather have a handle that complements the edge side so that I know where that edge is, and provides more control in the direction of the edge's movement.

I also don't personally like the look of the shark, but that's just my opinion. It's proportions are all wrong for me.

Yea, I thought I recognized it. Tactical Wakizashi if I remember correctly. Very well made beaters. Wish I had picked up one when they were reasonably priced years ago. Sweet blade brother, and that awesome collection too.

Regulator handle* is genius-- an ergonomic favorite of many a hog and piglet!
Battle Shark handle* is very similar to Regulator with a mild palm swell...excellent as well!
*both these seem to melt into your hand. Truly wonderful :D
TG has even more of a palm swell-- IMHO, not my favorite handle.

The top & bottom guards' hand/knuckle/finger protection function is obvious...

HOWEVER, a rarely mentioned-- but I'd argue an even more practical-- function of the guards is to aid in correct indexing of the blade in high stress situations when you might be reaching "blind" for your blade.

The triangular coffin shape of the handles of these knives guide the hand fore-ward and the guards effectively check and fix the hand in the correct position for action. The HG55 has another handle that is similar in function, minus the top guard.

Recently when @DamascusBowie mentioned the merits of a hyper-large Busse Bowie type model these same positives were mentioned.

@clampdaddy added how easy it is to blindly pick up these shaped handles correctly...Very true, it's difficult to pick em up wrong as long as you find the handle first and not the point or edge!
