I never got into video games much, but I like games where I can just screw around and have fun. Growing up I always had games like Dark Forces, Rebel Assault, and those other fun Star Wars games, but they were limited. No more! I asked for Battlefront II for Christmas, and although it runs slowly with my 64 mb Radeon 7500, it's an awesome game. Not even because it' Star Wars, but because I can just mess around and exploit the game to do silly things. If you're having a space battle, you actually take off and land in whatever ship you want, leave the hangar, and destroy the other fighters and flagships, OR you can fly into the hangar of the other flagship, hop out of the cockpit, and start gunfighting. You can also leave the hangar and go ito control rooms. You can sit down at a remote turret control and use the ships' guns to take out your own craft, enemy craft, or shoot the very ship you're sitting in. My favorite is sneaking on board the enemy ship and disabling the shields, life support, and artillery. Land battles are also an option, but they're not nearly as fun as ship-to-ship combat if you ask me. You can play as "heros" or "villains" too- such as Han Solo or the abnormally thin Darth Vader, but it's timed so you can't play as them for too long. Regardless, even non-Star Wars fans would appreciate the expansiveness of this game, and Star Wars fans will have a lot of fun with the locales such as Hoth and the Death Star. There's a story mode, which I assume follows the Clone Wars and perhaps the Civil War, but I haven't gone through it yet. I haven't even tried playing online because I need a new video card (the box says a 64 mb is fine, but it's choppy to the point of frustration), but that's another option open to you. There's my plug for the day
