Anyone catch the CRKT M21 spearpoint in the season opener tonight? Was on screen several time for a number of seconds. Wonder it they paid for that or if was just their good fortune to get the free advertising.

I thought Battlestar Galactica was just on for one season in the late 70s. Are they showing reruns?

I agree. The old BSG doesn't hold a candle to the new Sci-Fi one. If you're a big fan of the old one, you may not care for the new, but if you can stay open to it, I'd recommend it.

Didn''t like the use of suicide bombers in the show. No matter what the point of the show is or the use of them didn't like it. That's just me though. Other than that the show is ok most of the time. keepem sharp

I thought the show went well. The quality of the series is better than the original, but what would the old series be like if made today (probably better, too).

You'd think a technological society (like the Cylons) would choose a better knife ;)

But then, too, they use FN Five-Seven pistols.

As for the bombers, the "logic" was there, so it just reflects the world of today.

What I found disturbing was the change in the son, Lee Adama. Every scene just had me asking WTF. But, it did establish the time frame from last year's episodes.

How about Xena, she pulls of a good New Zealand accent for someone who's a cylon and never been to Earth :D

Yep, saw the knife. I'm not that familiar with teh CRKT line, but that was too obvious. As for the show: love it -- much better than the original in all regrads. I think the point in using suicide bombers was one of desparation and striking at collaborators real. Situational ethics. . .

I'm just glad they didn't use some silly fantasy knife. The CRKT didn't look out of place, tactical but utilitarian. It worked. And how 'bout those chopsticks Starbuck jammed through the Cylon's neck? I've seen titanium ones but those looked pretty shiny. Stainless? And where can I get a pair?

Several seasons worth and I must say , this is the best television show to come out in a long time.
I'm not a big TV person that catches all the latest rage but I am damn glad I have seen this one from the gitgo , it's just that good.
Getting into it now would probably confuse the hell out of anyone though...
Anyways I didnt see the knife for some reason but , not surprised at all they would use a main brand knife like that. The knife itself looks both modern and tactical enough to fit right in , plus the cost didnt break thier bank :p

I thought it was interesting, that although someone obviously tried to take a swat at the US WOT, the show had enough integrity that the end result was almost the exact opposite. The "suicide bombers" and improvised munitions were used against legitimate enemy targets - it deplicted partisan warfare rather then terrorism, real torture (like mutilation) rather then mere discomfort, and punative incarceration (+ mass murder), rather then just the legitimate detention of known enemy combatants.

It is a great series, with excellent writers, directors and actors; and, it shows.

Yes it's a great show with some great actors and acting. This seasons opener however was weak, and predictable. I sure hope they do better for the rest of the season. Less politics, and more knives getting screen time. :)

I wonder how CRKT would have felt if Starbuck would have killed her Cylon "husband" with the M21 knife. Think that would have brought a lawsuit? Or maybe CRKT magazine ads would show a dead Cylon with an M21 sticking out of his chest and the caption: "Colombia River knives are so tough, they can even kill Cylons!!!". :D :D
