Anyone see the season finale of Battlestar Galactica on the SciFi channel last night? Last night's episode was the finest to date. Even my wife (who's not a big science fiction fan) thought the episode was incredible. Her jaw dropped at the end when she saw Boomer cap the Old Man. That and the whole issue with the Boomer on Caprica. The story was a work of genius! The only bad part is the fact that I now have to wait until July for the second season premiere!

I was really skeptical of the new Galactica, recalling the original...

But it hooked me from the first episodes. Good cast, good acting, writers who know a thing or two about military thinking, definitely the best sci-fi series running presently.

Thought it was a stroke of genious to personify the Cylons, and even give them a sense of mysticism and religion.

Just watched the tape from last night, what an ending!

As a DIE HARD!!!! fan of the original, I went ballistic at teh thought of a new one, and Starbuck being a CHICK was almost enough to send me over the edge, but she has turned out to be one of the best characters!

I am glad to be wrong, this is a great series!

I agree. The Cylons' devotion to their "one god" in intriguing. It appears that they now want to breed with humans in order to get closer to their god. I have a theory behind the Cylons (the human looking ones). My theory is that when the Cylons left to find their own world after the armistice between the Colonials and the Cylons, there may have been some twisted human scientist who felt sympathy towards the Cylon cause and left with them only to create Cylon/Human hybrids through cloning. This explains why there are so many copies of human-looking Cylons. If you recall the "Gun on Ice Planet Zero" episode from the original 1970's Galactica, there was Dr. Ravishol, a human scientist who created clones that were put to work for the Cylons. This "human" may just be the god that the Cylons worship and by breeding with humans, they (the Cylons and their offspring) become closer to their god. Now, this is just speculation, but what if this "god" of theirs calls himself Iblis. If you remember the original series "Count Iblis" was a fallen angel who had imprinted his voice upon the Cylon Imperious Leader. This "human" that the Cylons worship may be so deranged that he thinks of himself as being one of the gods of Kobol and declares himself as the supreme god of the Cylons.

I say that this show is the best show to come out in years ! I liked the original one too but it was nothing compared to this new series.
I've seen every episode at least twice , and cant wait till July ! Grace Park by the way is teh yummyest :D :D
My questions are now ..

Will Adama live
What happened to the folks stranded on Kobol (i think it was kobol)
Will Madame President be re-instated now that Adama is gutshot
Are the Cylons gone as in wiped out by nukes
what is the mysterious connection between Man , Cylons and The Gods.
Is the blonde Cylon lady hot or what and final question
Can I have a Boomer Cylon ??? please!? :D
