Any collector of custom fighting knives will be aware of the famous South African knifemaker Peter Bauchop. Peter was an early member of the Knife Makers Guild of South Africa (KGSA) and was a prolific maker in the 70's, 80's and 90's. His patterns are classics today and his knives were carried by many Special Forces units in Southern Africa and beyond.

His son Rob continued the tradition and also made many of Peter's patterns and his own. Recently Rob's son Blade, the third generation of the Bauchop family to make knives, has joined the KGSA and begun his knife making journey.

At the 2024 KGSA show I gave Blade an order for his new folder and he delivered it to me earlier this year. Here are some pics.
The knife is a front flipper in M390 with a custom brass Terzuola style opening disc. It flips beautifully. For those who know Peter Bauchop's work the DNA will be immediately evident. I have included a few photos of Peter's work just to jog memories.
I hope you like Blade Bauchop's work as much as I do.
