Bauchop Witch 2 Dagger

Hello,

I recently acquired a Bauchop Witch 2 Dagger from my grandfather; it has sparked an interest in finding out more information on this particular knife. He frequented swap-meets in southern California and remembers buying it in the mid 90's. Does anybody have any knowledge on this dagger? I would love to know how many where made and when they were made.

Witch daggers were made by Peter Bauchop, out of South Africa. Most were made of D2 steel. Many (if yours is black) were coated with Kalgard.

Handles were usually black micarta, with a brass guard.

How many made? I have no idea. I own 4 of them, myself. I have only seen one other in person, and I have been looking for 30 years. They are definitely not common.
