The little bowie was rehandled using the horn removed from a larger bowie.
Removed very carefully so I could have a full coverage handle on the tang. It's also one of the few thin versions we've see. Very very light and sweet.

The Karda was rehandled with Coco Bolo, great piece of wood on that one.

Email sent on the Kumar Karda. Got the Done Deal.

I love Cocobolo wood, but you have to be careful working with it. This is one of the most toxic woods out there. Some people develop a nasty rash if they get the sawdust on their skin, not to mention breathing it into your lungs.

In my early handle days (guns, not knives) I worked so much Coco Bolo that I got the rash like blisters in my hands. My shirt collars were red.
I was in it all the time. I'd get half sick and have to lay off for awhile.
Don't use it as much these days, mostly cause I been playing with other stuff.
I love the Coco Bolo though, great looking.

Bawanna, that is one fine micro Bowie. You done good, Bro. I can't believe someone has not grabbed this little jewel!

Thank you. Coming from you sir, I find myself blushing just a bit.

Oooh Man! Thats a sweet Micro AKB! Its the original short one too! Excellent job on them both Mr. B! Very nice KK!

It's not only the original size, it's about half as thick. I'm hoping we see more of these. Seeing is believing on these. They are sweet.
I fully intended to put stag on this one and I just couldn't find the right piece. I've found that's the beauty of the buffalo horn. It's solid and you can shape it any way you need to.
I have one more that I'll probably leave alone until I get another one and will keep trying the antler.
I just got a nice pile given to me this weekend. I should be able to make some part of it work.

He HE! Funny! Im watching the Bladesmith show and they are trying to make a Khukri right now. Lets see how they do.
Im kinda low on antler at the moment or id send ya some. I got G10 and some wood if you need any. I agree though. Antler looks great on them AKB's.

Welp, EMS on mmb, time to see if somebody sharked it. ^_^

E: Got the DD. Look forward to your handiwork Bawanna, thanks.

Buddy, your going to love that knife. Yangdu said if it didn't sell she was keeping it herself. No better endorsement than that.
You be sure to let me know when you get it what you think.
Might have a beach towel handy when you open the box, your gonna be bawling your eye's out with happiness.

Bawanna, you were right. This is a funky little guy, and it fits my hand like a glove.

You did a fantastic job with the checkering, how long did that take? It's beautiful and so grippy it's almost rubber-like.

Hmmm...better watch out, or the demand for Bawanna-ized handles is going to start cutting into your free time. ^_^

Many thanks,

I'm soooo glad you liked it. It turned out real nice. Checkering is a bit time consuming and you have to have your mind right which of course is the most challenging part for me. Probably 2-3 hours just checkering, all hand work but I enjoy that part.
I might have to make another one special for Yangdu.
