I'm honored to be able to help what little I can. If you could put in a good word for me to help get me into the Gurkha's that would be super.

If your in San Francisco you better look up Cul. Your in the neighborhood.

Where you been Wildman? You've been off the radar far too long.

I've been mostly browsing Bladeforums as of late, spending to much time on Facebook. Just started trying to spread my internet time between the two these days. :) Got a full time job, got married, moved to a different town, done lots of hiking, a bit of camping. Just living the married life and working nights. Hope to use my Khukri's more. . . .

Dang, lots of life changing events in your life of late. Wow! Hope it's all good.

I’ll retract that Cul! Sorry man!
But won’t the EPA get you for spitting on the sidewalk?:D

I rarely spit on the sidewalk, but recently I discovered something useful about saliva. I was polishing a wooden bowl, using wet-dry sandpaper. Normally I add a little water to lubricate the sandpaper. However, I was too lazy to get up so I used saliva. I was pleasantly surprised that the saliva worked better than ordinary water. The mucous in the saliva, not surprisingly, is a good lubricant. Of course this is not the last step, and before I give the bowl as a gift it will be cleaned up and get a few coats of tung oil.

I'm bracing for some mucous jokes now. For the record, I didn't have enough saliva for the whole bowl, so I ended up using water also.

you have discovered what the military has know for millenia, well - as long as they have worn shiny shoes/boots. spit shined shoes require real spit. water just isn't good enough.
