Welcome to Bladeforums.

It would help us a lot if you could post pictures. You will need to open an account with Photobucket or a similar image sharing sight, upload your pictures, then paste the code into your post.

Good pictures of any tang stamp or identifying marks will help a lot, too.

Aluminum for the bolster and pommel? And what are the handle slabs made of?

It is a model 95/08 n.A (neuer Art, new pattern) having the flashguard fitted (along the top of the wood grips), as of 1914, in my opinion it was originally a the "sawback" variety, the sawback being ground off, probably at some time during the first war, as they were not popular with Allied troops (if caught with one it usually was a death sentence !), the frog is damaged, as for the numbers, that usually denotes further use after WW1 (as the Imperial Army only marked with Regimentals)....Turkish/Finnish ?

I copied the text and pics from another website, but it seems to describe what you have, and what was done to it to make the blade so narrow.
