While certainly not designated as a knife, bayonets have performed most of the basic things a fixed knife would do except for maybe throwing.

I have been after both US and Japanese bayonets. Right now I am on a tear to track down both M3 Trench Knives and M4 bayonets. Of course I am pretty happy finding the 16" 1905 bayonets and the M1905Es.

I have a Chinese spike bayonet that I have been trying to attach to my Mac Book Air, you know in case a SHTF scenario goes down while I am on facebook...

I don't specifically collect bayonets, but I've accumulated a few over the years. Some day I'd like to take good photos of mine and start a topic in the Bernard Levine area to find out what I have.

Most of mine were purchased online from surplus stores, except for a Phrobis M9 that a friend found while working in the desert. It's a "Second Generation" according to this page: http://www.m9bayonet.com/buck-phrobis-m9.html

I dont collect bayonets but have acquired a few......I have an 1866? made by STEYR A generic one that went on an m16 and a pattern 2 that went on the original Lee Metford rifle...it is dated May 1900 (Boer War) and is unissued or sharpened... Made by MOLE....A lovely piece. FES

I have a small collection of military knives from WWI to Vietnam, but the only old bayonet I have is from a Canadian Ross rifle, that I found in a Scrap heap on the side of the road.

I wouldn't say I collect bayonets, but I do like to own bayonets for each of my military rifles. Here's one of my favourites, a 1917 SMLE.

I'd love to find an original bayonet for my lovely Finnish M39, but they are very expensive and rather hard to come by. Not worth the hassle since they are just a toy to me.

FRANCISCO.....That is a lovely SMLE you have there...I have the same model sitting right next to me,except mine was sporterised by Cogswell and Harrison...They are or were? the oldest gunsmiths in England...I bought it unfired 25 years ago ...A lovely old gun.. FES

Is a Union Fork And Hoe "UFAH" 16 in Bayonet very common?I understand most got cut down to 12 in.What would one in good condition with no sheath sell for?It is my brothers and I don't have any pics of it.I will try to git one next time I am over to see him.It has good patina but no rust and the blade is full, all the parts to the latch and handle are in great shape.thanks in advance
